History

Datalog was founded in Calgary in 1986 in order to provide manned Mud Logging field services and develop advanced Mud Logging technology. In 1987, Datalog introduced Geologger, the first computerized unmanned Mud-logger, and continued to lead the industry in this technology. Other major developments included the introduction of the WellWizard™ in 1999 and the GasWizard™ in 2000.  The Wellhub web based secure data distribution system was developed at Datalog in 2004.  Datalog acquired the patented technology LWT (Logging While Tripping) in 2005 and fully commercialized the service in 2008.  Specialized Slimline Open Hole Wireline Logging focusing on Oil Sands core hole logging and mining applications was introduced in 2006.
