Developing Unconventional Gas (DUG) Eagle Ford Conference

A team from Datalog attended the 2011 DUG Conference in San Antonio in advance of Logging While Tripping (LWT) services being expanded  into Texas and specifically the Eagle Ford resource play.  The requirement for safe and economic full suite horizontal open hole well logging was apparent in conversations with operators working this complex area.  A recurring theme in conference technical sessions was the need to optimize frac intervals to ensure expensive horsepower is not wasted or worse - applied to evironmentally sensitive formations.  Using detailed horizontal logging data to accurately place fracs rather than pumping blindly was seen as key to efficiently developing this resource as well as providing the type of planning and stewardship required by land holders and regulatory bodies.
